Epilepsy is a problem with your brain’s electrical system. A surge of electrical impulses cause brief changes in movement, behavior, feeling, or awareness. These events, known as seizures, last from a few seconds to a few minutes.
When identifiable, the causes of epilepsy usually involve some form of injury to the brain. For most people, though, epilepsy's causes aren't known.
