Feels a little weird having my throat numb, but I prefer that to the violent, body-wrecking coughs I've had for several days due to illness unknown (Covid tests negative, no symptoms other than minor congestion and forceful cough). It hasn't completely eliminated the coughs but they are 90% less frequent and no longer in violent spasms.

I saw a Med MD doctor. She did a COVID test, but never called to give me the result. She put me on three drugs, one of which was benzonate. My coughing is not gone, but it is 100% better.

I saw an urgent care doctor Thursday for the flu and she gave me benzonatate, the cough is slightly better, but I have a horrible taste in my mouth. I called the pharmacist to see if that was a side effect; she said yes and it is a terrible medicine. Never heard a pharmacist say anything like that before.

I was prescribed this medication by the emergency room doctor and it did absolutely nothing for me so I went to the supermarket and bought the Mucinex 1200 mg cough suppressant and that worked 100 times better.

I went to the urgent care for persistent cough and breathing problems. I started feeling much better after the first capsule. I only took it for 3 days.

I had to use this for my son who could not stop coughing when we ran out of our usual "delsym 12 hr" cough med. This med did not help at all at 100 mg 3x day. Was told to try 200 mg at bedtime, which worked a bit better, except wears off in middle of night. Overall, less effective than the otc cough med

Took this medicine after having a dry cough due to lymph nodes pushing on my airways. My cough got worse after a lung biopsy was done so my doctor prescribed this. He prescribed it because I was coughing so hard my abs and whole rib area was very sore. It also caused me to have bladder issues from coughing so hard and frequently. Shortly after taking it my chest felt like the worst acid reflux I’ve ever had. Now reading other comments it seems like it was just melting and making my lungs numb? I started having a weird taste in my mouth about 2 hours later. Followed by very red cheeks and hot skin. I figured my body was just reacting to the meds but it was okay because I still felt fine just a little off. Next thing I know I started getting a bad migraine and losing vision in my left eye. I started having achey legs and my body felt like it was not having the meds. Left work because I felt so bad. Got home and had the worst stomach pains ever. My migraine only got worse. Very sensitive to light/ sound, sick to my stomach, pounding headache, chills bad. Finally was able to get a little sleep and woke up in the middle of the night feeling somewhat better because it wore off but my migraine still exists. It hurts to cough so bad because of the migraine. I will never take this again. I would prefer coughing over the side effects. It’s not worth it. I asked my doctor if there would be side effects since my body has been very sensitive to meds in the past (pretty much all but cold/flu and ibprofin) and he said no. Went to Urgent care for breathing troubles and constant cough. Prescribed 100 mg Benzonatate. Took as prescribed for 3 days. Really made no difference in the cough itself. Did help me sleep, however left my mouth really dry. If someone tries to prescribe to me again, I will let them know it did not work.

This worked for me. I did experience a stuffy nose, but I’d rather that then the coughing.

Benzonatate Pearls, reduced my cough substantially. I would say to others that the medication's effectiveness is going to be different for each person. Some will be allergic to it's ingredients, others will not be. For some it will work great, for others not at all. I had no side effects from the medication. I was tested for Covid, it was negative, so we suspect that it is just a common cold, it reduced my cough enough for me to go out without scaring the crap out of people thinking that I had Covd. And I was still able to clear the phlegm from my throat with ease. Bensonatate 100mg , 2 capsules 3/day has been prescribed to me on several occasions. I was never feeling a difference, This time, my cough persisted for over 2 years, medicine didn’t stop it. Didn’t get any better. My friend made me a home-brew of HCQ and my cough disappeared within 2 weeks.

I would cough all night until I was prescribed Benzonate. It stopped the cough completely!

Had a cold with a bad cough and this was my first time prescribed it. I took it along with maximum strength Mucinex, drank plenty of water and hot water/tea, used cough drops... and it improved my cough, but I still coughed to the point of being incontinent (yay), dry heaving, and straining intercostal muscles. My cough slowly improved but I think more because the virus ran its course. This would probably help with a mild cough. Or maybe I needed a higher dose, IDK.

I had a cough that was causing awful pain from coughing too much. This medicine reduced my coughing by 98%

It doesn't work. Every single doctor that has prescribed it to me has told me that it most likely won't help. Why bother then? My coughing is so bad it bruised my larynx and I broke 2 ribs coughing. Just freaking give me CODEINE for Pete's sake!

This drug may have been more effective had I taken it longer. However, after one or two doses, I suffered from severe, systemic itching. The itching actually woke me from sleep. Every square inch of my skin was affected. I will never take it again.

Work very well for me. Did not expect much from it but was nicely surprised with it's overall effectiveness.
